But what about when you’re the one managing employees who are working from home — or other locations?

In a recent post on CultureIQ’s Culture Corner, Redbooth Director of Marketing Kim Wolfe, who manages employees and contractors in a variety of locations and time zones, explains that effective remote employee engagement comes down to the fundamentals:

Since remote workers aren’t in the main office, they often feel isolated and disconnected from the day-to-day action. Make sure they know that their contributions are essential to the overall company’s success.

In the post, Kim shares five tips for keeping remote employees engaged:

  1. Foster team unity, starting with how you introduce new members to the team
  2. Keep remote team members in the loop — don’t let too much time go by between interactions
  3. Use technology to stay in sync: visibility and coordination of efforts are essential
