Enabling Incoming Email Basic Modality (On Premise)

This modality allows your team to respond via email to any Redbooth task (or conversation) notifications. Redbooth will then include the response as a comment on the thread.

Before proceeding, ensure you have configured the POP3 or IMAP server.

You can choose to enable Reply To Notifications globally for all projects or specifically for a particular project.


Global Notifications


To enable Reply To Notifications for all projects, you need to define a POP3 or IMAP account inside the Manager under the Incoming Email > Default Account section:

  • Enter the account email in the Email Address field. This will be the email account used in the Reply-To field of notifications generated by Redbooth Private Cloud.

  • Enter the account username in the User Name. This is the username (or email) used to authenticate to the IMAP/POP3 account.

  • Enter the account password in the Password field.

  • Click Save to persist your changes.

Once the configuration has been saved you will again be required to restart Redbooth to apply this change.
Enable-Global-Notifications Once Redbooth has been restarted, if a project administrator inside Redbooth visits the Project Settings page he(or she) will now see this:

NB! You should not fill in or configure the fields in form above, unless you want to use per-project notifications.


Per-Project Notifications


NB! If you just want to reply via email to comments on tasks and conversations, you do not need this functionality.

Note: This applies to Project Administrators and setting up this functionality affects single projects, not the organization as a whole when it comes to creating tasks and conversations from incoming email. if you’d like to learn more about this feature visit our Help Center section
